Eligibility & Qualifications

External Candidates

​To be eligible for this role, you must meet the following criteria:

  1. Education: A Bachelor’s Degree in Law (LLB) recognized by the U.G.C.
  2. Professional Status: Enrolled as an Attorney-at-Law.
  3. Higher Education: A Postgraduate degree (Master’s) in Law recognized by the U.G.C.
  4. Experience: A minimum of 15 years of experience at a “Managerial Level” in the field of law within a recognized institution.

Internal Candidates

​Current CEA employees can apply if they:

  • ​Meet the external qualifications mentioned above OR
  • ​Have completed at least five (5) years of satisfactory service in a Manager Category (MM) Grade I post relevant to the legal field.

Salary and Fringe Benefits

​The CEA offers a highly competitive package for this senior role.

  • Salary Scale: Rs. 140,640 – 15 x 4,100 – 202,140.
  • Monthly All-inclusive Package: Approximately Rs. 219,569.00 (as of 01.01.2026).
  • Fuel Allowance: 115 liters per month.
  • Vehicle Allowance: Rs. 50,000/- per month.
  • Professional Allowance: Rs. 25,000/- per month.
  • Other Benefits: Medical insurance, telephone allowance, and encashment of unutilized medical leave.

General Requirements

  • Age: Between 35 and 55 years (Upper age limit does not apply to internal/state service candidates).
  • Citizenship: Must be a citizen of Sri Lanka.
